Lady K-Fever is a Canadian New York City based street artist, activist and educator that specializes in producing unique projects that focus on community through collaboration, compassion, liberation, empowerment and healing. As a Graffiti/ Street Artist she has painted all over North America and is internationally recognized for incorporating traditional art elements with graffiti fonts, flowers and intergalactic atmospheres defining a signature expressive style. Her artwork has been exhibited with New York Sanitation Dept.: Trucks of Art exhibit 2019, New York City Parks Dept Art in the Parks at Marcus Garvey Park, Mosholu Park, Crotona Park, DOT Arts, The Bronx Museum, Montefiore Hospital, Art in Odd Places, Intermedia Arts and Longwood Art Gallery, and featured in CBS news, ABC news Fox5, WPIX 11, New York Times, Wall Street Journal, The New York Post, Daily News and in books: Street Messages, Graffiti Women: Street Art from Five Continents, We B Girls, Burning New York: Graffiti NYC and The Bronx Artist Documentary Project.
Her professional art career began in Vancouver, Canada in the early 1990's as Theater student, House of Venus Art Collective performer and model, and Riot Grrlz feminist activist /graffiti artist/skateboarder. In 1999, she traveled painting throughout the west coast of United Stated and landed in Maui, Hawaii. Where, overwhelmed by the beauty of Hawaii, she painted her first large scale hibiscus flowers as her signature instead of her name. In 2004, she relocated from Toronto, Canada to New York City with her three year old daughter and a backpack to paint murals, curate exhibitions and document Hip Hop as a journalist for Backspin Magazine.
Her passion and dedication to the arts as a catalyst for change lead her into the arts and education field developing unique workshops and experiences that transform communities through Art working with over 200,000 art making participants throughout the past 15 years as a Museum Educator, Teaching Artist and Healing Arts Instructor with The Museum of Art and Design, Studio Museum, Queens Museum, El Museo Del Barrio, The Laundromat Project, and Masterwork Museum Of Bermudian Art and Most recently with NYC Dept. of Cultural Affairs, City Council and The Bronx Museums Anti-Gun violence initiative. Lady K Fever is a Cohort 38 AIM Fellow with the Bronx Museum, recipient of the Assemblyman Jose Rivera's Excellence in Community Service Award 2015, Dept. of Cultural Affairs SUCASA grant award 2018-2019, Bronx Council on the Arts: Arts and Education grant 2007-2009, DOT Arts Community Commission grant 2016- 2108 and the Citizen Committee for New York City Neighborhood grant 2016.
